Linköping University (LiU) is a comprehensive, research-based university known for high quality education. LiU is ranked top 150 in Engineering and Computer Science by the Shanghai Ranking and in top100 universities under 50 years old, by the British Times Higher Education.
Several of our international Master's programmes focus on innovation in relation to renewable technologies and energy systems. The LiU strategy involves taking responsibility towards the environment, and this has translated into our study programmes and research.
East Sweden is known for being in the forefront of sustainable development and clean tech. LiU was ranked 5th among environmental universities in the world in December 2011 and one year later a national biogas research centre was established here. The university has been an active promoter of making the region "green" in terms of energy and resource efficiency while improving business. For more than ten years LiU has been working together with companies in the region on projects for environmentally driven innovation. "We turn environmental problems into opportunities" is one of LiU's mottos.
LiU holds a collaboration agreement with Universiti Sains Malaysia and over the years several master's and PhD students have come to Linköping University from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
